May - Leonie Pujol's Stamps and Stencils/Masks

This month we played with the first release of Leonie's stamps and stencil/masks.

I am still trying to decide how to finish them off.

Create - background created by using a bit of cut'n'dry foam and loading up with colour on the end of the foam, and then swiping from the centre of the mask outwards.

Used a brush to create the stripes over the mask.  Do I colour the birds or paper piece them or what?  Take extra care with the Sing masks, most of mine have lost their S's due to mask breakage, what letters could I add 'ing' to?

Fun - a work in progress, the mask is still stuck in place, waiting to be stamped over.

Home - done at a Julia Watts - stencil masterclass.

The following was also done at Julia's workshop.

This is a skinny sent to me in a swap - they used Leonie's Stamps and Mask.  (Skinny is a piece of work 3 inches by 6 inches)

This was a card I spotted on the internet that was not linked to Crafter's Companion, Hochanda or the Design posts - like the idea - more adventurous than I was with my Crazy Birds

and there then was this one going a step further and using stampbord

April - Tim Holtz Tags

Personal request for this month.  I have been stocking up over the years on the products that Tim uses on his tags, so that I can have a play with them, but have never got round to it.

So this month brought all the materials I had and made the January 2016 tag plus the two tags that Tim linked to this tag.

Tags not identical to Tim's as had to modify the designs, as I found that I had two alarm clock dies and not one alarm clock and one stopwatch.  Also did not want the alarm clock on two tags out of the three, when I mounted them on my A4 Canvas board.

February 7th 2015 - Card Candi 2

A chance to play with our newly purchase stamps from Woodware. The backgrounds were created using Phill Martin's spray ink misters from Cosmic Shimmer - these do not contain mica so should not become blocked.

Used Phill Martin's Graceful Mustard for the spritzed background and the PVA pearls (from Cosmic Shimmer).  The backing mat and bow are in Squeezed Lemonade (Tim Holtz Distressed Inks)

This time the backing mat is some Taupe Pearlised card and the bow is Graceful Mustard.

Spritzed background and PVA pearls are again from Phill's Cosmic Shimmer Graceful range - Lavender

Leaf colouring and green mat are promarkers.

Spritzed Background is Vintage Berry, the red mat and shading on the topper are Aged Mahogany.
Spritzed leaves are Graceful Mint - paper piecing was used to "colour" leaves.

January - Make Your Own Stamp Pad

This month's class cards were inspired by a card I made at a Maria Simm's workshop.

Using Cut 'n' Dry Felt and Tim Holtz Distress Stains, firstly we created a stamp pad for a particular floral stamp.  Different colourways for the two flower stamps (both from Clarity Stamps)

Then we went on to create a random multicolour (3 colours) stamp pad - not striped.

The leaves and the saying are from a Clarity Stamp set, the lady walking is from Little Claire.

To create the ink pads we used cut'n'dry and Tim Holtz Distress Re-inkers.

April 6th - Generation Stamping

After explaining what Generation Stamping was and how it is used in filling out vegetation, creating backgrounds, 3D effects and movement, we went on to create the following cards.

Background stencil is from Peerless Designs and the words and cars are Tim Holtz

The stencil is from Ali Reeve (Stamps Away)

The scroll stamp is from Dimension Stamps.

March 31st - More Brayering

For the first two toppers Adirondack Ink pads were used to create the background using a brayer.  A variety of makes of stamps were used (Clarity, Inkylicious and Tim Holtz)

For the next topper, a Kaleidoscope Ink pad was used to create the background.

For the last topper, a Big & Juicy Ink Pad was used to create the background.

Stampscapes stamps were used to create the scenes in the last two toppers.
