January 2011 - Skeleton Leaves

Skeleton leaves - most people seem to be at a lost with what to do with them.

They might use them in a bouquet.

Or just stick them on a piece of handmade or mulberry paper. This ATC was the project ATC for this month, the leaf was put through a sticker machine, stuck to the mulberry paper, and then glitter added.

For the project card, several leaves where stuck onto white card in a random and overlapping pattern - spray glue was used. The leaves needed to be pushed down firmly. Then spray glitter was used over the top and then the backing mat was cut out using a cuttlebug and nestability die.

You can of course use up several leaves by creating a flower.

In this card the leaf was used as a "label/tag". The paper used as a background was a textured handmade paper and the paper put around the frame was paper with things like brush bristles in it. The ants were a stamp, I have added some 3D paint to the bodies.

In this card some extra skeleton leaves were added to the skeleton leaf background paper. Tag and flowers are made using handmade paper. I found handmade paper and skeleton leaves went well together. Tiny buttons were used as the flower centres.
